Men’s Fertility Checkup

Sperm Analysis

Sperm analysis is the earliest preliminary test to investigate the father’s sperm conditions. Through this test, the quality, amount, motility, and form of the sperm cells can be brought to light. For the analysis, the father will be asked to abstain from ejaculating for 2 to 5 days before the test.

Many factors surrounding the sperm come into play in fertilizing egg cells, including but not limited to the factors mentioned above. Sperm analysis is a program specifically tailored to find how the cells will likely perform, or detect issues with the cells should there be any. Most treatments for sperm cell problems take a while, so the earlier you check up, the better it generally will be for you.

DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI)

Being the building blocks of life, the state of the DNA contained within the sperm cells is a very important thing to consider. In many cases of repeated failures to conceive, repeated miscarriages, and unexplained infertility problems, or even failures in IVF programs when the sperm analysis turned up normal, DNA fragmentation is often the culprit.

In order to find out the state of the DNA in the sperm, a DFI test is performed. DFI stands for DNA Fragmentation Index, which describes the number of fragmented or broken DNA strands in your sperm cells. The higher the fragmentation, the harder it is for the cell to fertilize an egg, even if it seems that the amount, motility, and form of the cells are normal.

Male Hormonal Profile

The production of reproductive cells, such as sperms, and the quality of these cells (along with other issues around them, such as whether the semen is nutritional enough, whether enough sperm cells are produced, and so on) are dictated heavily by not only the father’s living habits, but also by the genetic predispositions the father already has. This is compounded even further by other biological processes the father goes through in life.

Most of these can be both detected through, and caused by, hormonal issues. Hormones are like the chemical messaging system our body uses to regulate itself. Problems with hormones can cause problems that may tie into fertility. Therefore, finding out your hormonal profile—and deciding on the proper treatments with our experts, if you happen to need one—is but one way we have of helping you achieve your parenthood.

Testicular USG
Bayi Tabung Bali

Also known as scrotal ultrasound. Ultrasonography (USG) allows us to see the inner working of the body. In the case of low sperm count, we can see what may be the cause by directly checking out the source of its production—the testicles.

Apart from helping with finding out how to deal with low sperm count, testicular USG will also give us an accurate picture of the size of the testicles, the blood flow quality in the testicles, whether there are obstructions or varicoceles, or even detect testicular cancer. Whether you have low sperm count, or just concerned about your general reproductive health, testicular USG can help us give a picture of what’s going on.
